Open Day Friday 14: Age Concern Richmond's Whitton Social Centre is holding a Spring Open Day to welcome visitors and members to sample the varied activities that take place on Tuesdays and Fridays at the Centre. There will be stalls with home-made cakes, bric-a brac and a display of the Art Group's work and also the craft section. Raffles of Easter goodies are to be won. At 12:30pm visitors and members are invited to join in the fun of an Easter Hat competition, when there will be a parade and judging of the best hat, with lovely prizes to be won. Between 2pm and 3pm there will be displays of exercise and line dancing, regular classes taking place at the Centre. Everyone over the age of 50 welcome at the Whitton Social Centre, 111A Kneller Road, Whitton, 020 8894.4963.

They are very pleased to report takings of £223.62 in the space of 90 minutes - "a splendid start to the year", say organisers.

Residents' funerals

Mr Melvyn Botten of Twickenham died in the Royal Marsden Hospital, Sutton on May 28. His funeral will take place at Mortlake Crematorium at 4.30pm on Thursday June 5. Rev Mike Starkey will officiate. Donations in lieu of flowers for the John Radcliffe Hospital care of the funeral directors.
